In an increasingly fast-paced world in an age of mechanization, I feel the need to slow down through crafts that requires my hands and all my attention. I am often as intrigued by the story of an object as by the object itself. Items with a soul, made with a slow and thoughtful approach and with great attention to detail captivate me.
Ceramics and calligraphy are part of my health and wellness habits. Crafts of yesterday that require time, calm, practice, and patience. Beauty that refreshes, nurtures and comforts me. Matters that keep me in balance and give meaning to my everyday.
Tea tastes better in a handmade cup, receiving a handwritten letter is more exciting than getting an email.
These pieces are created in New York, in a beautiful Japanese pottery studio. They are all different and have a unique story behind.
